Oanda is ranked #13 among CFD brokers. Tradeview is ranked #30 among CFD brokers.
OANDA is an award-winning global broker, established in 1996. The hugely respected brand offers competitive trading accounts and serves clients from 196 countries. It remains a popular option with both beginners and experienced traders thanks to its user-friendly and sophisticated web platform, no minimum deposit and premium currency products and services. The company is also overseen by reputable regulators, including the FCA, ASIC and CIRO. Tradeview is an offshore forex and CFD broker based in the Cayman Islands and regulated by CIMA. Traders can access over 5000 instruments with a minimum deposit of $100. There are several third-party platforms on offer, including MetaTrader 4 (MT4) and cTrader.
Risk Warning- CFDs are complex instruments and come with a high risk of losing money rapidly due to leverage. Between 74% - 89% of retail investors' accounts lose money when trading CFDs. You should consider whether you understand how CFDs work and whether you can afford to take the high risk of losing your money. 74-89% of retail CFD accounts lose money.
Pros
  • The OANDA Trade web platform serves serious traders, with 100+ technical indicators, an economic overlay and a Dow Jones news feed
  • OANDA recently improved its prop trading service, OANDA Labs Prop Trader, offering an 80% profit share to skilled traders
  • The guaranteed stop loss order (GSLO) is a useful risk management tool not available at many alternatives
  • There are no restrictions on short-term trading strategies with scalping, hedging and netting permitted
  • OANDA has enhanced its suite of stocks, now providing exposure to over 2,200 US and European shares
  • With 68 forex pairs and access to a premium MT4 upgrade, the broker will serve active forex traders
  • Oversight from tier-one regulators like the FCA and ASIC makes the broker reliable and trustworthy
  • The $0 minimum deposit will appeal to newer traders
  • Spreads are tight and there are zero hidden fees
  • The main thing that stands out for me is the wide range of platforms available at Tradeview, including the MetaTrader terminals, cTrader and Currenex, plus several software options for the broker’s real stocks trading service
  • Through STP/ECN execution, the broker is able to achieve raw pricing on popular assets. Tradeview also charges very low commissions from $2.50 per lot per side
  • My tests uncovered a strong range of 60+ currency pairs, which is above the industry average and should allow serious forex traders to explore plenty of opportunities
  • I found a decent range of payment methods available at Tradeview, with no deposit fees and same-day processing times
  • In addition, TradeView is a liquidity provider for other firms, underlining their reliability.
Cons
  • The range of payment methods trail competitors, only offering a handful vs the 10+ available at alternatives like AvaTrade
  • It's a shame that social and copy trading tools aren't supported for traders who want to explore other ways to trade
  • High-volume traders get limited fee rebates or perks compared to leading brands
  • Weekend customer support and extended hours trading aren't available
  • A key drawback for me is the lack of top-tier regulatory oversight. The broker’s offshore regulation with CIMA may mean that traders won’t receive robust fund protection measures. They are however, looking to bolster this area in the near future.
  • I was a little disappointed to find a $35 fee for bank wire withdrawals and a 1-1.5% fee for Skrill and Neteller

CFD
You can speculate on popular financial assets covering forex, commodities, indices, metals and bonds. You can get started with $0 minimum deposit, making the broker a good pick for beginners. There’s also over 130 technical indicators available collectively in the MT4 and OANDA Trade platforms. My tests uncovered around 100 CFD products covering forex, indices, commodities and cryptos. Leverage is available up to 1:400 and it’s good to see that scalping, hedging and EA strategies are permitted.

OANDA offers 68 currency pairs, which is above the industry average. You can speculate on majors, minors and exotics, with spreads from 0.8 pips on popular pairs. There are no commissions and leverage is available up to 1:200. Average execution speeds are fast based on tests, at 12 milliseconds. I’m happy with Tradeview’s strong range of 60+ currency pairs spanning majors, minors and exotics with competitive spreads from 0 pips in the $1000 ILC account. Traders can choose from several platforms, but I was particularly impressed with the feature-rich Currenex platform which is designed specifically for currency trading.

Cryptocurrency
OANDA offers trading on leading cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin. You can place trades in the app hassle-free and practice in the unlimited demo account. The broker offers guaranteed stop-loss orders to help protect you against crypto market volatility. I found 5 crypto products at Tradeview: BTCUSD, ETHUSD, LTCUSD, XRPUSD and BTCJPY. Whilst this isn’t the widest range, beginners should have enough opportunities to explore the market. Plus, with STP/ECN execution, traders should be able to access relatively competitive prices.
