Awesome Miner is a crypto company with a competitive range of mining and management services, keeping up with alternative firms and overtaking many in terms of extensibility, multi-user accounts and compatibility. Our experts have reviewed the Awesome Miner management toolset and tested its capabilities with ASIC, GPU and CPU hardware to help you decide if you should sign up.

Our Take

  • Awesome Miner takes much of the difficulty and learning curve out of DeFi token mining
  • I like that the company’s software can be easily extended to manage large hardware pools across several simultaneous cryptos
  • The firm’s unregulated status raises some safety and security concerns
  • I would prefer to see more live customer support options available
  • You cannot use the software on Mac devices which is limiting

What Is Awesome Miner?

Awesome Miner is a cryptocurrency mining and management software that simplifies the mining of Bitcoin, Dogecoin and more.

With support for a range of hardware, including ASIC and GPU miners like ccminer and DSTM, Awesome Miner provides centralized control for up to 200,000 miners from one user interface.

We used the platform to set up external miners with API-enabled interfaces and found it easy to utilise the features for remote monitoring and GPU overclocking.

Simply put, the company provides a centralised management and monitoring system for retail crypto mining operations, making it easier for users to build, control and optimise their mining activities.

Tools & Features

Below are the key ways that we found Awesome Miner to support the crypto mining process and help us earn our DeFi token rewards.

Centralised Management

Awesome Miner allowed us to manage and monitor all our devices from a single, uncluttered user interface. I particularly like this feature as it means I could control all my operations, whether ASIC, GPU or CPU miners from one place, without needing to deal with each individually.

The firm includes in its services an API that enables external applications to interact with it programmatically, so we could extend the platform’s functionality yet further.

Some of the third-party tools that we incorporated were ZPool Miner, Ethermine, Nemos Miner, GMiner, Ethminer maTT Miner and 2Miners.

Support For Various Miners

Awesome Miner supports a wide range of mining software and hardware, including popular ASIC (specialised mining hardware) miners and both GPUs and CPUs (regular computer hardware).

This means that users can combine several different types of devices and still manage them all through the same application.

Easy, Wizard-Based Setup

We found that the company’s software provides easy-to-use setup wizards for adding both external miners (miners already running on the system) and managed miners (miners controlled by Awesome Miner).

These wizards guide users through the process, making the initial setup straightforward, even for those who are not technically inclined.

Remote Management

The firm enables remote management of operations by using the Awesome Miner Remote Agent. This allows users to control and monitor activities on other computers remotely, without needing direct physical access to those devices.

Managed Profit Miner

The Managed Profit Miner feature simplifies the process of maximizing mining profits. Instead of manually switching between pools and coins, Awesome Miner can automatically switch to the most profitable option, based on the current market conditions and mining difficulty.

This optimization helps users to earn more from their efforts without needing to constantly monitor the markets themselves.

Hardware Monitoring & Overclocking

Awesome Miner provides hardware monitoring capabilities, allowing users to keep track of the health and performance of their mining devices. Users can monitor important metrics like temperature, fan speed and hash rates.

Additionally, it supports remote GPU overclocking, enabling users to optimize the performance of their graphics cards for better efficiency.

Alerts & Notifications

The software can send alerts and notifications to users in case of any issues or important events related to mining operations. This helps users stay informed about their setup’s status and react quickly to potential problems.

How To Use Awesome Miner

Before getting started, ensure you are aware of the hardware, firmware and software requirements for using the package. You will need 32-bit and 64-bit editions of Windows 7, 8 and 10 (not XP), Microsoft NET Framework 4.5 and Redistributable Packages for Visual Studio 2013 & 2015 from Microsoft.

I would point out that the above requirements are a minimum and users would likely get more out of the platform with more advanced computing.

Moreover, I came across some differing requirements for the mining of some coins. For example, Ethereum mining requires an Nvidia or AMD GPU (not an Intel GPU or CPU) with up-to-date drivers and at least 6GB of memory.

I found the process for getting started with Awesome Miner to be straightforward, especially given the extent to which I could customise the software’s features and tailor the tool to my needs and setup.

  1. Download & Install: Visit the officizl website and download the firmware for Windows. Once downloaded, run the installer and follow the on-screen instructions to install the toolset onto your computer. We were disappointed to see that the package is only available for Windows and Linux and is not supported on MacOS, APK (Android) or iOS (iPhone) devices.
  2. Launch: After installation, open the Awesome Miner application. It should start with a setup wizard to help you configure your operation.
  3. Create A New Profit Profile: The setup wizard will prompt you to create a new profit profile. Choose a name for your profile and select the type of miners you will be using (ASIC, GPU or both). This is also where you must link your crypto wallet setup in which mined tokens will be deposited.
  4. Add Mining Pools: Add the pools you want to use to collectively mine cryptocurrencies. You can either choose from popular pools like Binance, Nanopool, Zergpool and Dogecoin pool or add custom pools via the pool hub.
  5. Add Miners: For ASIC miners, provide each device’s IP address and login credentials. For GPU miners, choose the appropriate software (e.g., ccminer, DSTM) and configure the required settings.
  6. Configure Profit Switching (Optional): If you want to utilize profit switching, enable the Managed Profit Miner feature. This will automatically switch between mining pools to maximize your profits based on the most profitable coins to mine.
  7. Monitor & Optimise: Once your miners are set up, Awesome Miner will display real-time data and statistics about your operation. We found this tool invaluable, allowing us to monitor our performance, hash rate, temperature and profits to optimise our setup and strategies. We also made regular use of the option to overclock miners and boost their performance.
  8. Troubleshoot Issues: If you encounter any issues with your mining devices or software, refer to the provided guides and support resources to troubleshoot and resolve them.
  9. Stay Updated: Keep an eye out for updates to the software, as new versions may offer improved functionality and bug fixes.

Pricing

Awesome Miner users can choose to pay monthly or annually for the company’s services. For two miners, the cost is $4 each month or $36 for a year.

If you choose to add more miners to your account, they will each be charged at a discount. For example, we saw a 10% discount when using 25-50 users, though this jumped up to 20% when we incorporated a total of 50-100 users.

Those using supported ASIC miners can also download and install the firm’s proprietary Antminer Firmware to enhance their efficacy. This comes at an additional cost of 2.8%.

Payment Methods

We were pleased to see that Awesome Miner accepts and supports several options for paying software subscriptions and fees.

Clients can use payment cards, PayPal, Amazon Pay and bank wire transfers. We found the funding process very simple, carrying out payments in just a couple of minutes.

Bank transfers require direct contact with the customer support team, though all other methods simply involve entering your payment details on the website’s payment page.

Demo Features

We were pleased to see that those looking to try the firm’s services without first having to pay can do so. This is a key feature that shows the company’s dedication to its customer service and belief in its capabilities.

The demo platform can be downloaded for free and accessed using a licence registration number obtained by contacting customer services.

Despite the limited features of this trial software, we found it to be promising and were able to upgrade to a temporary free trial of the full software package by again contacting customer support.

Tips For Using Awesome Miner

Although the software is intuitive, it has its quirks and less well-known features, as with every other software package out there. Therefore, I have compiled a list of my main recommendations to get the most out of the mining platform.

  • Regularly benchmark and check your mining hardware to assess performance and optimise settings for better efficiency.
  • Utilise the built-in profitability calculators (WhatToMine, CoinCalculators, and Coinwarz) to estimate potential earnings before starting or switching to a new mining operation.
  • Keep an eye on error messages and troubleshoot promptly using the provided resources and support guides. These have often indicated issues with my setup or pool connectivity and provided rectification tips.
  • Utilise online services, forums and communities to connect with other miners and gain insights into best practices and troubleshooting tips. Whilst solo mining is great if you have the time, energy and skill, teaming up with others can be faster and is rewarded by Awesome Miner in the form of discounts when multiple people use the same account. We have found significant rewards and incentives to combine forces with others, even if only dual mining (one other person).
  • Keep your wallet addresses secure and be cautious when you change your primary wallet within the software to prevent potential losses.
  • Do not engage in illegal activities like attempting to hack or crack the software, as this is unethical and can lead to unintended consequences, such as triggering a trojan virus or malware. Awesome Miner is a legitimate management software and any attempts to use it for illegal purposes could result in damage to your system or legal repercussions. You may also be rejected from future applications to brokers and mining managers.

Safety & Security

Following concerns about Awesome Miner being flagged by antivirus software, many users questioned the safety of using the platform for mining. However, the company has developed a reputation for its security and has not been affected by a virus or trojan horse attack that we could find.

The firm undergoes testing by 60 different antivirus engines with each update to ensure it maintains a good degree of security before being officially released.

We can confirm that administrators of accounts can see everyone who can log in to the account but they cannot interfere with other users’ ongoing processes. Miners themselves can see some of the people who have access to the account, depending on the privileges afforded to them by their administrators.

Customer Support

Awesome Miner customer services can be contacted via a form on the company’s website. Those who hold a licence can access email support 365 days a year and the support team respond to our email queries within 72 hours every time.

This is fairly competitive in the mining manager industry. For example, NiceHash does not offer any live support at all, restricting its customer service to an online troubleshooting section.

Awesome Miner is a powerful and user-friendly DeFi software package designed to simplify and optimize cryptocurrency mining on Windows computers.

We found that the tool supports various types of mining hardware, providing centralized management capabilities and allowing more casual users to mine popular cryptocurrencies like Ethereum, Litecoin and Ravencoin.
