Risk Warning – Your Capital is at risk

A+ Trader is an offshore broker that offers highly leveraged CFD trading on a range of markets. This review will delve into the benefits and drawbacks of this broker to give UK traders everything they need to know. Find out if you should open an account or steer clear.

Our Take

  • A+ Trader offers a 100% welcome bonus and 5 protected deals to new traders
  • However, the broker’s clunky and unprofessional website contains broken links and missing information – the first of several warning signs
  • A+ Trader does not provide detailed market information or trading terms, with a severe lack of transparency throughout
  • The broker’s very high minimum deposits for higher-tier accounts and unrealistic claims about its awards are two more red flags
  • This is an unregulated broker that does not inspire confidence and we do not recommend trading with them

Market Access

There is limited information on the A+ Trader website about the kind of market access traders get, which is frustrating and another bad sign from this broker.

A+ Trader advertises that traders can choose from 30 currency pairs for forex trading, and there appears to be access to index CFDs, too, but no mention is made of stocks or crypto trading.

We do not suggest trading with a broker that does not give clear and transparent information on their website. It is important that you know exactly what you’re getting before you register for an account, and even providing your personal information to unreliable actors can be risky.

A+ Trader Fees

A+ Trader advertises tight spreads from 0.1 pips which we found to be low. However, this depends on the account that you choose and the asset you’re trading.

Typically, spreads on A+ Trader do not go lower than 0.5 pips, from our findings. This is still competitive, but bear in mind that most spreads were higher than advertised, particularly on currency pairs.

In terms of other fees, A+ Trader may charge overnight holding fees if the market is not open. On a lighter note, they do not charge for withdrawals.

Accounts

There is a range of account options from A+ Trader, and we feel this is standard for most trading brokers with differing amounts of leverage and fees depending on the trader’s style and needs.

However, when we reviewed the minimum deposits, we noted that only the Micro account had a relatively low amount, with all of the other account types requiring a minimum of $999 or more. The broker requires up to $35,000 to access the higher-tier accounts. This is an awful lot of money to hand over to an unregulated broker with very little web footprint, so caution is advised.

Our team have broken down the different account options below.

  • Minimum Deposit: $100

How To Open An Account

Once our experts were able to access A+ Trader’s registration process, we found it to be straightforward and similar to most other online brokers.

However, one of our team was unable to begin the registration process at all, due to the links on the broker’s website not working on their mobile or desktop device.

If you can use the link and wish to register, follow these steps:

  1. Visit the A+ Trader website
  2. Select “Register” on the website’s homepage or navigation menu. Click to proceed with the account registration process
  3. Fill out the registration form with your detailed personal information
  4. Choose an account type that aligns with your trading preferences and goals
  5. Complete the verification process with the required proof of ID and address
  6. Fund your trading account

Funding Methods

There are a range of deposit methods available at A+ Trader including WebMoney, Moneybookers, Debit/Credit Card CashU, LiqPAY, Payoneer, China UnionPay, Bank Wire Transfer, Neteller and Skrill. The same methods are available for withdrawals.

The minimum deposit is $100 which is reasonable. However, we recommend newer traders sign with a broker that offers a low minimum deposit, or one that doesn’t have a minimum deposit at all, like Pepperstone or XTB.

No fees are charged for withdrawals, which is a positive feature of this broker.

A+ Trader Regulation

A+ Trader claims to be regulated under St Vincent and the Grenadines Financial Services Authority (SVGFSA) as Aplus Solution Ltd, with register number 25420BC2019, but we were not able to find any record of them on the SVGFSA register, which raises serious concerns about this broker’s credibility.

Unverified SVGFSA license number on A+ Trader website

A+ Trader is also not regulated by the UK’s Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), meaning that traders will not be protected by the stringent oversight and consumer protection rules imposed by this body.

By trading with FCA-regulated brokers like CMC Markets or City Index, you can be sure that they are operating in a secure and compliant manner. This means that you are less likely to be scammed or lose money. You can check whether a broker is UK-regulated on the FCA website.

Trading Platform

A+ Trader uses the MetaTrader 4 (MT4) platform, and we highly rate this user-friendly terminal, which caters to both beginners and experienced traders.

The platform’s intuitive layout makes navigation effortless, ensuring users can quickly access various features and tools. MT4 offers a smooth and hassle-free experience while executing trades, analysing charts, and managing portfolios.

How To Place A Trade

  1. Log in to your A+ Trader account and open MT4
  2. Choose an asset to trade by navigating to the ‘Market Watch’ window
  3. Double-click on the instrument you wish to trade to bring up an order window
  4. Set the trade parameters, including trade size (lot or quantity), entry price, stop-loss level (to limit potential losses), and take-profit level (to secure potential profits)
  5. Confirm the order

Mobile App

A+ Trader does not have its own app, but traders can use the MT4 app.

MT4 offers several features that make it a good choice for mobile trading, including a user-friendly interface, a wide range of charting and technical analysis tools, and the ability to quickly track multiple open trades or connect to numerous brokers. We are confident that this will satisfy most traders who need to monitor markets and place trades while on the go.

While it can be good to have a proprietary mobile app designed by the broker, we tend to favour MT4 over these in most cases. Brokers’ in-house mobile apps typically offer similar features, but they may not be as user-friendly or have as wide a range of tools as MT4.

Additionally, brokers may charge for using their mobile apps, while MT4 is free to download and use on iOS and Android (APK) devices.

A+ Trader Leverage

A+ Trader offers leverage up to 1:1000, which is far higher than the amounts offered by the FCA and most other top-tier regulators.

Some traders see this as an advantage of offshore and unregulated brokers, but in our view is too high to trade safely, and only very experienced traders should take the risk.

For more casual or beginner traders, we recommend trading with leverage no higher than 1:30, as laid out by the FCA.

Demo Account

A+ Trader does not offer a demo account, and our team feel this is another big disadvantage of this brokerage.

Forex brokers that offer demo accounts allow traders to test their strategies and learn how the market works before risking real money. We are therefore very disappointed to find no simulator account at A+ Trader.

Bonus Deals

Depending on the account, traders can get up to five protected deals, meaning that for your first 5 trades, you cannot lose any money. In theory, we think this is an appealing bonus because, unlike many promotions by brokers, it incentivises trading without having new clients risk their capital.

However, we were not able to test the bonus out and, given the risks involved with this broker, we would not advise traders to invest their money to test the bonus out themselves.

A+ Trader also offers a 50% referral bonus of up to $1000 as well as an emergency bonus of up to $3,000. These bonuses are harder to obtain and therefore we recommend reading the terms and conditions in full before entering.

Extra Tools & Features

A+ Trader advertises a range of educational resources to assist traders in honing their trading abilities. The platform claims to provide access to educational articles, tutorials, webinars, and video courses covering various trading topics.

However, on the website itself, we found no option to access this free education. Like many aspects of the website, the information was either hard to verify or outright inaccurate.

A+ Trader also advertises market insights for free to all traders, but once again, there is no sign of such an option on the site.

Instead, we recommend brokers with excellent education, such as eToro or CMC Markets.

Customer Service

A+ Trader offers 24/7 customer support and 24/5 trading support to align with the trading hours of the forex market, which is satisfactory in our view.

Support is available through the following methods:

  • Email: info@aplustrader.com
  • Phone: +44 2037 342 657

You can also request a call-back if you want to leave a question with the support team. We found the absence of live chat, however, to be disappointing as we view this to be key in this day and age.

Company Details & History

The broker states that its company is based in England and was established in 2006, but besides this, there is very little available information about A+ Trader, and we were not able to verify any of the information we did find.

One of the most visible examples of this is the long list of awards the broker claims to have won, including the Most Credible Forex Broker of the Year award, awards for best customer support and best education programme, and more.

In some cases, there is no sign online of the supposed bodies that presented the award; in others, A+ Trader has simply not included any award-giver at all.

This lack of credible and verifiable information presents yet another reason why we don’t find them to be trustworthy.

Security

A+ Trader implements KYC checks, which does enhance security, however, we cannot say overall that they are a secure broker due to the lack of regulation. They also make no claim to hold money in segregated accounts, which is risky.

Trading Hours

The forex market is open 24 hours a day on weekdays, so the opening hours of A+ Trader follow these times.

Should You Trade With A+ Trader?

A+ Trader makes a lot of big claims on its website, promising ‘global trust’, loaded bonuses and tight spreads from 0.1 pips with ‘no hidden commissions’.

Yet with no regulatory oversight, there is nothing to hold this firm to its word, and we would not advise opening an account with a brand you can’t trust – particularly given the very high minimum deposit for higher-tier accounts.

FAQ

Is A+ Trader A Good Broker For Online Trading?

No, we do not find it to be reliable due to its lack of regulation, transparency and security. We recommend considering one of our recommended FCA-regulated brokers who adhere to strict standards and can offer robust client protection measures.

Can I Access Educational Resources A+ Trader?

A+ Trader falls short when it comes to providing comprehensive educational resources. Although these are advertised on the website, we did not find any sign of the said resources upon testing. Instead, consider alternatives.

Is It Possible To Interact With Other Traders On A+ Trader?

A+ Trader’s community and social interaction features are lacking in comparison to other platforms. There is a lack of engagement and limited opportunities to connect with peers. This limited interactive community is a notable disadvantage, as traders often benefit from sharing ideas and experiences with fellow traders.

Does A+ Trader Offer A Mobile Trading App?

No, but traders can use the MT4 app which, in our view, is often better than brokers’ proprietary apps.

Am I Safe Trading With A+ Trader?

Our experts have raised concerns regarding the security measures employed by A+ Trader. The lack of regulation, segregated accounts and misleading information means that it may not be safe to leave your details or capital with the broker.
